Creato Hosts Film Course with filmmaker, Eric Watson

CreatoDestructo is stoked to host a course in video production during the month of May taught by filmmaker, Eric Watson, producer of Pi, Requiem For a Dream, The Fountain, and What’s Wrong With Virginia - a film produced with Gus Van Sant and written by Oscar award winner Lance Black (Milk); and writer/producer, Susannah Walker Mills, producer of Bad Dad and The Marathoners.

Here's the course description:

Throughout the course students will learn how to write, shoot, and edit a 2-3 min short that will be showcased.

    •    The first week will focus on the elements of creating script, including character, plot, and dialogue. Students will write a 2-3 page treatment and turn it in for feedback.

    •    During the second week students will learn the basics of how to shoot; including directing, casting and location. With the help of classmates and instructors students will spend the following week shooting.

    •    The last week will focus on editing, scoring, and creating the final product. Completed works will be for the class and special guests.

Workshop will take place in September. Specific dates to be announced. For more information, contact Susannah Walker Mills at narrativefilmmaking@gmail.com.

LOST IN TREES VIDEO PREMIERES ON SPINNER!

Preparing For Next Lost In The Trees Video

Jerry directs the Creative Session /test shoot for another upcoming video for Lost In The Trees next album( being recorded now). Julia Scale, a local dancer, found inspiration and choreographed her own expression to 3 tracks.

Ari joins in, demonstrating his own choreographic vision.

All this physical energy pushed Trace's yoga button and Ari listens dutifully.

Before you could say asana, she had Ari in an impressive Upward Dog Pose.

Creato Dance-o

Bennett Does Suburbia

Our high school intern, Bennett Williams, knows Dance.

And can he.
Our idea was to take this urban art form and capture it in a purely suburban setting.

To "depersonalize" him, we put a black bar of makeup on his face and hands and made him wear a hoodie.

Crumping, Popping, Turfing…Ballet? (Yes, Bennett includes ballet classes in his training). You own it when it's just you and your ipod. Accompanied by Rocky Fresh doing A.C. Green, Bennett pushed through his routine 4 times to get the angles our Creative Director, Jerry, wanted.

It starts at the feet. The red shoes were Bennett's idea.

LOST IN THE TREES

Filming All Alone in an Empty House

Ari wants to live here. Heck, we all wanted to live here after a day of filming finishing scenes for the upcoming video for Lost in the Trees.

Thanks to Nick (and his staying anonymous friend/landlord)for allowing us free reign on the property, in the house and of course, on the roof.

3 stories up. Are there awards for the biggest risk-taking in music videos?

Shay and Luke don't seem concerned. Local beef hamburgers from Will and Pop's are a good distraction.

Video to be released soon! Stay tuned!
